My Five Star Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What I Loved:

The book is categorized into five distinct language types which include a range of processing techniques. Each language type is clearly defined by the way individuals perceive conversations and situations, and is then finalized with ways to strengthen your connection with a person who has that particular language type.

Why I Would Recommend it:

I was able to identify friends and family easily in each of the language types, myself included. This was an eye-opener for me and changed my perception immensely. Whilst it did make for heavy reading, stirring up buried emotions, it also gave renewed ways of engaging which I found highly valuable.

What I Didn't Like About the Book:

Personally, I found the healing of buried emotions difficult to navigate. However, I'm certain we all know how vital it is to heal these hurts in order to move forward with our relationships of all kinds. The other advice I would heed is that the writing does refer to bible passages, but this didn't deter from the underlying message for me, as I simply related it to my own belief system.

Favorite Quotes:

One of the most healing things a person can experience is feeling understood before being corrected.

Love is more than shared laughter. It's showing up even when the mood isn't right.

And the most life-changing quote in my opinion:

Unspoken hurt builds walls.
